Frequently asked questions

What do the five cron fields mean?

In order: minute (0–59), hour (0–23), day of the month (1–31), month (1–12 or JAN–DEC) and day of the week (0–6 or SUN–SAT, where 0 and 7 are Sunday).

What does */5 mean?

A step: */5 in the minute field means every 5 minutes (0, 5, 10 …). 10-30/10 means 10, 20 and 30.

What time zone do the next run times use?

Your device's local time zone. Servers usually run cron in UTC, and GitHub Actions schedules always use UTC, so convert if your server differs.

This tool covers standard 5-field cron (crontab, Kubernetes CronJobs, GitHub Actions). Quartz and Spring use 6–7 fields with seconds and are not covered.
