- Keep it current. An out-of-date llms.txt can spread wrong answers, so update it when prices or features change.

What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a proposed standard, published at llmstxt.org in 2024, for a plain Markdown file at the root of a website (yoursite.com/llms.txt). It gives AI tools a short summary of the site and links to the pages that matter most.
Does llms.txt improve Google rankings?
No. Google has not said it uses llms.txt, and it is not a ranking factor. Its value is helping AI assistants and agents that do read it find accurate, current information about you quickly. It is cheap to add, but it does not replace good pages.
Where do I put the llms.txt file?
Upload it to the root of your website so it loads at https://yoursite.com/llms.txt, next to robots.txt.
What is the "Optional" section?
In the llms.txt format, links under "## Optional" are secondary: an AI tool can skip them when it needs a shorter context.
Is this llms.txt generator free?
