Frequently asked questions

How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?

It stores your network name, password and security type in a standard format. iPhone and Android camera apps recognise it and offer to join the network.

Is my Wi-Fi password safe?

It is never sent to us: the QR code is made in your browser. But anyone who scans the printed code can read the password, so only display it where you would share the password anyway.

Which security type do I choose?

WPA covers WPA, WPA2 and most WPA3 home networks, which is almost every router today. Choose "None" only for open networks.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The content is stored inside the QR code itself, not on a server, so it keeps working for as long as the content (such as your link) does. There is no tracking and no watermark.

Is my information uploaded?

No. The QR code is generated in your browser.
